Normal, IL – Authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying a person of interest after a shooting at Illinois State University left one person injured on Sunday evening.
According to the Illinois State University Police Department, the incident occurred Sunday, April 27, 2025, around 7:40 p.m. at the Bone Student Center. A fight reportedly broke out between two groups, resulting in a non-student suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, and the individual believed to be connected to the shooting fled the scene.
University police, supported by officers from the Normal Police Department, Bloomington Police, McLean County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police, and the Normal Fire Department, responded swiftly. Authorities said multiple officers processed the scene, gathered evidence, and worked overnight to maintain campus safety and investigate the shooting.
