Illinois Man Arrested in Peoria Robbery: No “Friend” to the Victim

Peoria, IL – A robbery suspect named Davante Friend was arrested Thursday evening after reportedly fleeing the scene in a U-Haul truck.

Peoria Police responded to the incident at 5:44 p.m. on the 2000 block of Adams Street. According to authorities, the victim reported being approached by a man who claimed to have a handgun and demanded property. After complying, the victim was struck in the face as the suspect fled.

Shortly after, police located a U-Haul truck matching the description, heading southbound on MacArthur. Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested 29-year-old Davante A. Friend, who reportedly fit the suspect’s description. No handgun was found during the investigation.
