Chicago, IL – The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a Frost Advisory for southern Cook County, Illinois, and Porter County, Indiana, in effect from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. Friday.
Forecasters expect temperatures to drop to around 32 degrees, especially away from Lake Michigan, leading to areas of frost formation overnight. Cities under the advisory include Orland Park, Lemont, Oak Forest, Calumet City, Valparaiso, Portage, and Chesterton.
According to the National Weather Service, sensitive outdoor plants may be damaged or killed if left uncovered. Residents are urged to bring potted plants indoors, cover garden vegetation, and protect outdoor water lines ahead of the temperature drop.
