Illinois expected to suspended all events, suspend IHSA Tournament

A State of Illinois COVID-19 press conference that was scheduled this afternoon to 5 p.m. tonight at the Thompson Center.

First reported by The Athletic, Governor is expected to announce the formal recommendation of suspension of all events across the State of Illinois until May following announcements by the Big Ten, ACC, SEC, NHL, NBA, MLS, NASCAR and MLB, who all suspended their leagues or limited access to fans today.

The announcement could result in the cancellation of the IHSA State Championship Tournament.
