Illinois — The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) will host an Environment and Nature Training Institute for Conservation Education (ENTICE) workshop on July 12. The workshop is located in Springfield and will last from 9:00 na.m. to 3:00 p.m. The workshop will focus on Native Bees.
At the ENTICE workshop, participants will learn about bee taxonomy and how native bees differ from other insects and animals that pollinate. The workshop will cover what makes native bees different from others as well as bee behavior and reproduction. Participants will also learn how to create bee-friendly habitats with pollinator plants and nesting structures.
The IDNR’s Division of Education uses the ENTICE program to offer workshops for educators. The workshops give teachers Professional Development Hours. Those interested in the Native Bees workshop can register online for a fee of $10 plus a convenience fee. Workshops are open to teachers, home-schooling educators, non-formal educators and youth group leaders in Illinois.
