Boise, Idaho – Highs in the mid-90s could scorch the Treasure Valley by Saturday, with parts of southern and western Idaho flirting with record temperatures through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Boise, skies will remain mostly clear this week, allowing temperatures to climb steadily. Boise is forecast to hit 95°F on Saturday, just one degree shy of the May 11 record. Cities like Nampa, Caldwell, and Ontario will see similar heat, with highs in the 90s from Thursday through Sunday.

Even higher elevations like McCall and Stanley won’t escape the heat. McCall could see highs in the 80s Friday and Saturday, while Mountain Home and Jerome push into the mid-90s. The heat will intensify through Friday, peaking Saturday before beginning to ease on Sunday night.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Cooling centers may open in some areas if the heat lingers.

Temperatures are expected to drop back to near or slightly below average by early next week, with cooler air moving in Monday. More updates and potential advisories may be issued later this week as the heat builds.
