Boise, ID – Snow and freezing temperatures will impact Boise and surrounding areas this weekend, creating hazardous road conditions and travel delays. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Treasure Valley, including Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell, lasting through 9 a.m. Friday.

According to the National Weather Service, snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected in Boise, with higher amounts of up to 6 inches in the Owyhee Mountains. Overnight rain and snow will transition to mostly snow by Friday morning. Roads, bridges, and overpasses may become slick, especially during early-morning commutes.

Looking Ahead: The weekend will bring mostly cloudy conditions, with lows dipping to 19°F on Saturday night and 15°F by Sunday night. Light snow showers remain possible early next week, with a 40% chance on Wednesday. Drivers are urged to use caution and check 511 Idaho for updated road conditions.

Travelers should prepare for icy roads and reduced visibility. Allow extra travel time, keep an emergency kit in your vehicle, and avoid unnecessary trips during heavy snowfall.
