Stutsman County, ND – A vehicle carrying seven children crashed on Interstate 94, resulting in the deaths of two young passengers. The 1997 Chevrolet Suburban, traveling eastbound, lost control after being passed by a semi-truck, causing it to roll and land on its side in standing water.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the vehicle was occupied by one adult driver and seven children aged 5 to 11 years old from Cleveland, ND. First responders found the 7- and 10-year-old male passengers deceased at the scene. The remaining occupants were transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center. One passenger was life-flighted to Sanford Hospital in Fargo, while the driver was also transported to Sanford Hospital in Fargo by ambulance.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. The driver’s name will be released later today, but the names of the juveniles will not be disclosed.
