Nashville, IL – Severe flooding has led to numerous road closures across Jefferson and Washington Counties, creating hazardous travel conditions.
According to local authorities, the following roads are currently impassable:
• HWY 37 South of Loop Rd
• E Dix-Irvington & N Boyd Ln
• N Hall Ln
• N Passport Ln & E Heisman
• 700 blk E Dix-Irvington
• Old Centralia & Tinsley
• N Casey Pike & Strawbridge
• Riddle Ln
• E Carpenter & N Krupp Ln (half of the roadway has washed away here)
• HWY 15 & Drivers Ln
• HWY 148 & Spruce
• Dubois Black Top near Riddle
• Most of HWY 15
.The National Weather Service has issued further warnings, predicting an additional inch of rain by 1 p.m. In Washington County near Nashville, Interstate 64 is heavily flooded. Residents are urged to stay home for their safety. If travel is unavoidable, avoid the listed roads and do not attempt to cross flooded areas. Vehicles can become inoperable in high water, leading to potentially life-threatening situations.
