Huntsville, Alabama – Showers and thunderstorms will move through the Tennessee Valley today, creating wet roads and reduced visibility through the evening before a brief break Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, rain chances today range from 40% to 60%, with highs between 76 and 80 degrees. Conditions turn dry Sunday, with warmer temperatures climbing into the low to mid-80s, offering a short window for travel and outdoor plans.

Attention then shifts to Monday night, when another round of storms develops after sunset and intensifies overnight into early Tuesday. Rain chances increase to 60% to 80%, and some storms could become strong to severe. Areas including Huntsville, Decatur, Florence, and Scottsboro may see damaging wind gusts, heavy rainfall, and isolated hail, particularly along major routes like I-65 and I-565.

By Tuesday, widespread showers and storms continue through much of the day, potentially slowing both morning and evening commutes. Rain chances remain elevated into Wednesday, keeping conditions unsettled across northern Alabama.

Residents should monitor alerts, secure outdoor items before Monday night, and ensure multiple ways to receive warnings while sleeping.

Storm chances will persist into midweek, with additional updates expected as timing and severity become clearer.
