Houston, Texas – Clouds will thicken across Southeast Texas on Tuesday, setting the stage for increasing rain chances and a damp midweek pattern that could affect travel, especially closer to the coast.
According to the National Weather Service Houston-Galveston office, daytime temperatures Tuesday will remain near seasonal levels, while Tuesday night lows settle mainly into the 50s across the region. As moisture increases overnight, rain chances begin to rise heading into Wednesday.
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop Wednesday, with coverage increasing during the afternoon hours. The greatest rain chances are expected along and south of Interstate 10 and near the coast, including Galveston, Freeport, and Matagorda Bay. Inland areas such as College Station, Conroe, and Huntsville may see more intermittent rainfall.
Rainfall totals on Wednesday are generally expected to range from a tenth of an inch to around a half inch, though locally higher amounts are possible near the coast where showers may linger longer. Severe weather is not currently expected, but brief downpours could lead to slick roads during peak travel times.
Residents are encouraged to plan for wet conditions Wednesday and allow extra time for commutes. Rain chances remain elevated into midweek, and additional updates or advisories could be issued as the pattern evolves.
