Home for the Holidays: 2024 Gallery of Trees Opens in Kankakee

Kankakee, IL – The Kankakee County Museum kicked off its 46th annual Gallery of Trees on Thursday, inviting visitors to celebrate the holidays with themed decorations and festive activities.

Running through December 29, the event features trees creatively decorated by local organizations competing for the title of “Home for the Holidays” favorite. The museum, located at 801 South 8th Avenue, welcomes visitors from Thursday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

According to the museum, special “Santa’s Seasonal Saturdays” will include pop-up vendors, visits from winter characters, and family-friendly crafts. Each Saturday brings unique opportunities for holiday shopping, entertainment, and interactive games.

Don’t miss your chance to vote for your favorite tree and enjoy a day filled with holiday cheer. Admission is free, and donations are encouraged to support museum programs.
