Burlington, VT – The National Weather Service in Burlington says unsettled weather will persist through Thanksgiving week, bringing a mix of rain, mountain snow, and colder air as the week progresses.

Rain will arrive late Tuesday into Wednesday, with temperatures in the 40s and 50s before a sharp cooldown by Thursday. Some lake-effect snow is expected to develop east of Lake Ontario, potentially spreading into northern Vermont and the Green Mountains late in the week.

While impacts are not expected to be widespread or severe, travelers should stay alert for changing weather conditions—especially those driving through higher elevations or heading west toward New York. Thanksgiving Day looks colder but mostly dry, with highs in the 30s to around 40°F, before snow showers return on Friday.

Residents are advised to monitor updated forecasts throughout the week as temperatures drop and conditions shift.
