Hoffman Estates, IL – The Hoffman Estates Police Department is once again teaming up with the Hoffman Estates Police Charitable Foundation (HEPCF) for the 5th Annual “Cram the Cruiser” Thanksgiving food drive, set for Friday, Oct. 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the front parking lot of the Police Department at 411 W. Higgins Rd.

According to the Village of Hoffman Estates Government, the event helps provide full Thanksgiving meals to local families in need. Donations from last year’s drive helped feed 83 families, and organizers hope to surpass that number this season.

Accepted items include turkey, boxed or bagged mashed potatoes, gravy packets, stuffing, canned vegetables, French fried onions, boxed corn bread, marshmallows, canned pumpkin, pie crust, and boxed desserts.

For those unable to attend Friday’s event, donation drop boxes are available at the Police Department, all four local Fire Stations, and Village Hall through Nov. 14. Monetary contributions are also being accepted.

Organizers encourage residents to participate and help ensure every family in the community can enjoy a Thanksgiving meal this year.
