Great Falls, MT – A high wind watch has been issued for Montana, effective Sunday afternoon through late Sunday night. The watch impacts areas including the Rocky Mountain Front, adjacent foothills, and the Eastern Glacier region.

According to the National Weather Service, southwest winds of 35 to 45 mph are expected, with gusts reaching up to 70 mph. Counties affected include Western Toole and Central Pondera, with impacts possible in Kiowa, Browning, and Babb, among others. Winds could cause damage to property, especially in open plains, and travel conditions might become hazardous for high-profile vehicles.
