Hernando County, FL – Deputies are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing endangered adult last seen late Friday night in the Weeki Wachee area, prompting a Purple Alert across the region.
According to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, Bermarie Santiago, 37, was reported missing around 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2026, from a residence on Linnet Road. Authorities say she was later seen on a neighbor’s security camera Saturday, May 2, walking along Linnet Road, but her current whereabouts remain unknown.
Santiago is described as a white female, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing dark shorts and a gray sweater and was carrying a garden tool with a yellow handle.
Officials issued a Purple Alert, which is used in Florida for missing adults who may be at risk due to mental or cognitive conditions and who could be in danger without assistance. Law enforcement believes Santiago may not be able to return to safety on her own.
Residents in Hernando County, including the Weeki Wachee and surrounding areas, are urged to remain alert and report any possible sightings immediately.
Anyone with information about Santiago’s location is asked to contact the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office at 352-754-6830 or call their local law enforcement agency.
