Bourbonnais, IL – The Bourbonnais Police Department is diving into the 2025 Polar Plunge to support Special Olympics Illinois. The annual fundraiser, part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, raises money for athletes with disabilities.

According to the Bourbonnais Police Department, officers will take the plunge on Sunday, March 2, at The Grove, located at 700 Main St. NW. The event kicks off at noon. Participants will slide into icy waters to rally donations for the cause.

Community members can contribute by donating online or in person at the Bourbonnais Police Department. The department has participated in the event for 11 years and encourages residents to show support.

This year’s theme, “BRRRbonnais,” highlights the frigid challenge officers will endure. Supporters can scan a QR code on event posters to donate.

The Polar Plunge is a statewide event bringing law enforcement and communities together. Funds raised provide training and competition opportunities for Special Olympics Illinois athletes.
