Hebron, IL – A Hanover Park man is in critical condition after a truck crash near Hebron early Friday morning.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 2023 Isuzu box truck veered off Price Road in unincorporated Hebron around 7:15 a.m. The truck struck a tree, trapping the 26-year-old driver. Emergency crews from the Alden Hebron Fire Protection District extricated him from the vehicle.
According to authorities, the driver was flown by LifeNet helicopter to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment of critical injuries. The man was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Investigators believe the truck was traveling eastbound on Price Road when it left the roadway, though the cause remains under investigation. The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Traffic Crash Investigation Unit is leading the inquiry.
Residents are urged to exercise caution on rural roads, especially during winter when visibility and road conditions can change quickly.
