La Crosse, WI – Wisconsin residents are preparing for two significant rounds of storms expected to bring heavy rainfall tonight through Tuesday night. The National Weather Service in La Crosse issued an alert for widespread rain.
According to the National Weather Service, the first round is set to begin tonight, bringing 0.5 to 1 inch of rain across most areas. The second round will follow on Tuesday, continuing into Tuesday night, with scattered storms potentially adding another 0.5 to locally 2+ inches of rain. Northeast Iowa and far southwest Wisconsin are anticipated to receive the heaviest rainfall.
At this time, severe storms are not expected, but a stronger storm or two is possible, mainly south of I-90 on Tuesday.
