Honolulu, HI – The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for parts of Hawaii, including the Big Island, Maui, Lanai, and Kahoolawe, beginning Tuesday at 6 a.m. and lasting until Wednesday at 6 a.m.
According to the advisory, northeast winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected, particularly over and downwind of mountains and through terrain gaps. The strong winds could cause power outages, falling tree branches, and hazardous driving conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles.
Residents are urged to secure outdoor objects, prepare for potential power disruptions, and use caution while driving.
