Medford, OR – The National Weather Service has issued wind advisories for parts of northern California and southern Oregon, warning of strong gusts that could impact travel and cause minor damage.
According to the advisory, winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph, are expected in Central Siskiyou County, including Weed and sections of Interstate 5, from 2 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday. Meanwhile, stronger gusts of up to 55 mph are forecast for Modoc County in California and Lake County in Oregon, affecting major highways from 8 a.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday.
Officials urge caution, particularly for high-profile vehicles, as strong winds could make driving hazardous. Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects and prepare for possible power outages.
