Harris County, TX – Locating a towed vehicle in Harris County will soon be much easier thanks to a new online tool launching next week.

Starting Monday, November 3, 2025, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) will make every vehicle towed in unincorporated Harris County searchable online through FindMyTowedCar.org.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the site will allow drivers to search by license plate, VIN, or location and time of tow to see:

  • Where their car is being stored
  • The towing company’s contact information
  • Approximate storage and recovery fees

The new system is available 24/7, with updates appearing about two hours after a vehicle has been towed. Officials say the goal is to streamline communication between law enforcement, towing operators, and the public, reducing frustration for residents who may not know where their vehicle has been taken.

Deputy C. Ross, featured in HCSO’s informational video, emphasized that the department is “putting information at your fingertips to better serve Harris County.”

The Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to bookmark the new website and share the resource with friends and family.
