Gurnee, IL Lockdown Lifted: Police Investigating Shots Fired Near Grand Avenue

Gurnee, IL – Gurnee Police are actively investigating an incident involving shots fired near Woodlawn Avenue and Pine Grove Avenue that prompted a brief lockdown of nearby businesses and schools on Tuesday morning. The lockdown, initiated at approximately 11:30 a.m., was a precautionary measure after officers received reports of gunfire in the area.

Upon arrival, officers determined that the offenders had already fled the scene. Preliminary information suggests that a white sedan may have been involved in the incident. Several rounds were found at the scene, leading to the involvement of a K9 unit from the Zion Police Department to assist in tracking the suspects.

Despite a thorough search, neither the offenders nor the vehicle were located. The lockdown was lifted around noon, and no injuries have been reported.
