Grundy County, IL – Authorities have located 3-month-old Silas Iennarella, who was reported missing earlier this week alongside his mother, Emily Johnson, 34. Johnson remains listed as a Missing/Endangered Person as detectives continue their search.
According to an update from the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, detectives collaborated with the Aurora Police Department on Thursday to investigate a residence on Central Avenue in Aurora. Although officers were denied entry, additional investigative leads revealed Johnson may have been driving a white Chevrolet Blazer registered to her mother. License Plate Reader (LPR) technology tracked the vehicle near Morris around 12:20 p.m.
By 2:30 p.m., detectives returned to the Southmor Road residence of Johnson’s mother, where they made contact. After initially refusing access, the mother handed Silas over to detectives, confirming Emily was not present. Silas was safely transported to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office and placed into the custody of his father.
Emily Johnson remains missing as the investigation continues. Authorities are urging anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office at 815-942-0336 or call 911.
