Greenville, South Carolina – Sunshine will break through by early afternoon, pushing temperatures up to 10 degrees above normal and quickly warming pavement along I-85 and I-385 before 3 p.m. Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, morning clouds will give way to mostly sunny skies across the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia. High temperatures will climb into the mid-60s to lower 70s across the Upstate, while mountain communities warm into the mid-50s to mid-60s.
Across the region, the rebound in temperatures marks a noticeable shift from recent chilly mornings. In the Piedmont, including Greenville and Spartanburg counties, drivers along I-85, I-385 and US-29 will notice improving visibility and dry road conditions through the afternoon. Foothill communities should also see clearing skies with comfortable highs nearing 70 degrees.
In the North Carolina mountains, including Asheville and areas along I-26, clouds thin steadily with cooler but seasonably mild readings. No precipitation or travel disruptions are expected, and outdoor conditions improve significantly after midday.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the dry stretch but remain mindful of cool early evening temperatures once the sun sets. With clear skies and light winds, readings will dip quickly after dark, especially in sheltered valleys.
Dry weather holds through Saturday evening, with the next system expected to approach later in the weekend. Additional updates will be issued if rain chances increase heading into early next week.
