Greenville, SC – Authorities in Greenville County are investigating a deadly overnight shooting after a woman was found fatally struck by gunfire inside a residence on Henderson Street early Wednesday morning. Deputies responded shortly after 1 a.m. following multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots in the area.
According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, investigators arrived and located an adult female inside the home who had been shot at least once. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. Preliminary findings indicate gunfire was allegedly fired from at least one suspect outside the residence, with rounds entering the home and striking the victim.
Officials say several other individuals were inside the residence at the time, but no additional injuries have been reported. Detectives are working to determine how many shots were fired, where the gunfire originated, and whether the home was intentionally targeted. The sheriff’s office emphasized that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Deputies spent the early morning canvassing the neighborhood, collecting evidence, and interviewing witnesses.
