Green Bay, WI – Northeast and central Wisconsin residents face dangerously cold wind chills, with temperatures expected to plummet as low as 35 below zero from early Monday morning through noon.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, the Cold Weather Advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to noon CST Monday, covering areas including Green Bay, Appleton, Wausau, and Rhinelander. The coldest wind chills are anticipated in north central and central Wisconsin, increasing the risk of frostbite on exposed skin within 20 to 30 minutes.

Residents are advised to limit time outdoors, wear insulated clothing, hats, and gloves, and take precautions when traveling. Schools and businesses may face delays or closures due to the extreme temperatures.

This advisory spans portions of central, east central, north central, and northeast Wisconsin, including major cities such as Stevens Point, Oshkosh, and Manitowoc. Temperatures this severe are uncommon in mid-February, adding strain to heating systems and increasing the risk of cold-related illnesses.

Officials urge residents to stay informed and prepare for hazardous conditions as the region braces for this blast of Arctic air through Monday afternoon.
