Green Bay, WI — A wintry mix of snow, sleet, and rain is sweeping through northeastern Wisconsin Sunday evening, with Green Bay and surrounding areas expected to receive up to 4 inches of snow by early Monday.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect through 7 a.m. Monday for much of northeast and central Wisconsin. Accumulating snow will be heaviest overnight, particularly in areas like Wausau, Florence, and Wausaukee, where 3 to 4 inches are forecast. Southeastern winds will shift northwest overnight, producing gusts up to 40 mph, especially in east-central locations.
The combination of falling snow and strong winds may reduce visibility during Sunday night travel. Slushy and snow-covered roads are likely, especially in the Fox Valley and northern counties. Areas like Appleton, Oshkosh, and Crandon may also see minor ice accumulation from earlier sleet or freezing rain.
The National Weather Service warns of potential tree limb damage and sporadic power outages due to gusty winds and wet snow. Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel, especially during peak snowfall between 10 p.m. Sunday and 4 a.m. Monday.
Drivers should reduce speed, maintain safe distances, and stay updated through local alerts. Snow is expected to taper by midday Monday.
