Grayslake, IL – Police detained two individuals on Friday after responding to a report of a firearm displayed at Grayslake North High School.
Officers received the report at approximately 3:20 p.m., involving a vehicle in the school parking lot. The vehicle left the scene but was quickly located and stopped by police. Authorities discovered a BB gun inside the vehicle and detained two individuals.
According to the Grayslake Police Department, responding officers acted swiftly to ensure safety in the area. Officials confirmed that no injuries occurred during the incident. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances leading to the firearm’s display.
Criminal charges are pending as police review evidence and statements. Grayslake Police Chief Jeff Myhra emphasized the importance of maintaining security near school campuses and commended officers for their prompt response.
