Grand Junction, CO – A cold front is moving through Western Colorado today, bringing valley rain, mountain snow, and gusty winds, according to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction.
Forecasters say the front will drift southward through Monday, October 27, 2025, producing 2–4 inches of new snow in the Northern and Central Mountains, particularly along the Park Range and Elkhead Mountains. Rain is expected at lower elevations, with conditions turning sharply colder by evening.
Strong northwest winds will continue across the region through the day before skies begin to clear overnight. As temperatures drop, Freeze Watches are in effect for several low valleys early Tuesday morning, where overnight lows could dip below freezing.
Travelers in mountain passes should be prepared for slick roads and reduced visibility during snow showers. Residents in the valleys are advised to protect sensitive vegetation and outdoor plumbing ahead of the freeze.
The weather service expects calmer, cooler, and mostly dry conditions to follow the front by midweek.
