Grand Forks, ND – A two-vehicle crash at a Grand Forks County intersection left one driver hospitalized with serious injuries. The collision occurred around 11 a.m. Monday at the intersection of 6th Avenue NE and 36th Street NE. A Peterbilt truck, eastbound on 6th Avenue NE, allegedly failed to yield at the stop sign and struck a northbound Ford.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the Peterbilt hit the Ford, pushing it into the northeast ditch of the intersection. The Ford’s driver was taken to Northwood Deaconess Hospital with serious injuries. They were not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The Peterbilt came to rest on the east side of 6th Avenue NE, with no reported injuries to its driver.
Authorities charged the Peterbilt driver for failing to yield at the stop sign. The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues investigating the crash. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.
