Glendale Heights, IL – Two brothers from Glendale Heights were arrested this week in connection with a child pornography investigation led by local authorities.
According to the Glendale Heights Police Department, Kevin Alvidrez, 28, was arrested Wednesday and Daniel A. Alvidrez, 23, was arrested Thursday following the execution of a search warrant and a detailed investigation by the MERIT Task Force Digital Forensic Unit.
Kevin Alvidrez faces one count of Distributing Child Pornography and four counts of Possession of Child Pornography, while Daniel Alvidrez was charged with five counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
Police say that on May 15, investigators executed a residential search warrant at a home in the 1200 block of Pearl Avenue. During the search, authorities seized multiple cell phones, tablets and computers containing images and videos allegedly depicting child pornography.
Investigators said evidence collected from the devices provided probable cause for the arrests. Arrest warrants were subsequently issued for both men, who were taken into custody and transported to the DuPage County Jail for their first court appearance.
Kevin Alvidrez was denied pre-trial release and remains in custody at DuPage County Jail. Daniel Alvidrez was released pending future court proceedings.
Police remind the public that charges are allegations, and the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
