Low clouds and scattered snow showers may briefly impact travel across northeast Montana today and tonight, though accumulations are expected to remain minimal.

According to the National Weather Service office in Glasgow, low-level clouds moving in from the east will overspread the region through Wednesday and tonight, bringing a few scattered snow showers. Forecast snowfall totals are expected to be very light, with little to no accumulation for most locations.

Communities including Glasgow, Wolf Point, Scobey, and surrounding Valley County areas could see brief periods of snow, particularly during the daytime and evening hours. While impacts are expected to be limited, drivers traveling along US-2 and MT-24 may encounter occasional slick spots if snow showers briefly reduce road temperatures.

Forecasters note that temperatures will remain relatively mild for late January standards, with highs ranging from the teens to lower 40s through the end of the week. Overnight lows will generally fall into the single digits to upper 20s, which could allow isolated slick conditions to develop where snow briefly falls.

Looking ahead, skies are expected to remain mostly cloudy into Friday, with another isolated chance for light snow on Saturday. No significant winter storm impacts are anticipated at this time. Beyond the weekend, temperatures are forecast to gradually warm into early next week, with highs reaching into the upper 40s to lower 50s in some areas.

The National Weather Service emphasizes that while this is not a high-impact winter weather event, residents should remain weather-aware, especially during early morning or nighttime travel when temperatures are colder.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down during snow showers and remain alert for changing road conditions. Additional forecast updates will be issued if snowfall coverage or impacts increase.
