Atlanta, GA – A sharp drop in temperatures is expected across Georgia tonight as a cold front sweeps through, but a warming trend is on the way for the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday night will see lows dropping to the mid-20s, with wind chill values making it feel as low as the teens. Northwest winds up to 15 mph, with gusts reaching 30 mph, could create hazardous travel conditions, especially on elevated roadways and bridges.

Thursday will bring sunny skies but continued cold, with highs only reaching the mid-30s. Another frigid night follows, with lows dipping into the 20s again. However, a gradual warming trend begins Friday, with highs climbing to the mid-40s, followed by a jump into the 50s by Saturday.

By Sunday and Monday, temperatures will rise to the mid-60s, offering a spring-like feel. Travelers and commuters should prepare for slick roads early Thursday, but milder conditions will make for a pleasant weekend.
