Geneva, IL – Geneva Police are urging residents to lock their vehicles after 13 cars were burglarized overnight in the Fisher Farms subdivision.
Kane County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a suspicious man near Route 38 in unincorporated Kane County on unrelated charges. During the arrest, deputies discovered stolen items linked to several Geneva car burglaries. These incidents occurred in the early hours of Oct. 10.
According to police, car burglaries happened on multiple streets, including Nelson Drive, Cannon Drive, Lorraine Circle, Fieldstone Drive, Hillcrest Road, and Larsdotter Lane. The burglaries remain under investigation by both the Geneva Police Department and the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.
Geneva Police are reminding residents to lock car doors, remove valuables, and secure garages. They stress that many car burglaries are crimes of opportunity, often occurring under cover of darkness.
