Gaylord, MI – Residents across northern Michigan can expect plenty of sunshine and a gradual warming trend through the middle of the week, according to the National Weather Service in Gaylord.

Forecasters report temperatures will reach the low 80s today, with mostly sunny skies continuing into Tuesday. Highs are expected to climb into the mid-to-upper 80s by Wednesday before cooling slightly late in the week.

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday will still bring above-average warmth with highs near 84 degrees. By Friday, however, cooler air will settle into the region with highs ranging from the mid-60s to mid-70s. A few more clouds are expected, but rain chances remain minimal.

The stretch of dry, sunny weather may benefit late summer activities across Otsego County and surrounding northern Michigan areas, including outdoor recreation, construction projects, and harvest preparations. Commuters and travelers can also expect smooth driving conditions through midweek, with no significant storm threats in the forecast.

This period of calm weather comes after a summer marked by shifting patterns of thunderstorms and cooler air masses. With this week’s forecast leaning warm and dry, many residents may find it a good time to plan outdoor projects or enjoy one last stretch of late-summer warmth before cooler conditions become more common later in September.
