Arlington Heights, IL – A garbage truck fire and explosion disrupted traffic Friday evening near the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Derbyshire Lane, prompting an emergency response from local police and fire departments.

According to a statement from the Village of Arlington Heights, the incident occurred around 5 p.m., leading to the closure of Euclid Avenue between Dryden Avenue and Carlyle Lane in both directions. Detours have been established, and authorities urge drivers to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
