Road Rage Incident on Interstate 65 in Clark County Leaves One Man Shot

Henryville, IN – A road rage incident along Interstate 65 near Henryville escalated into gunfire Friday afternoon, leaving one man hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

According to Indiana State Police, the confrontation began around 2 p.m. when a white Chrysler Town and Country minivan and a maroon Ford Bronco sideswiped each other while traveling northbound near the 16-mile marker. The vehicles reportedly continued north, repeatedly speeding up, slowing down, and exchanging gestures before stopping on the northbound ramp at Exit 19.

Authorities stated that the altercation turned violent when the driver of the Ford Bronco fired a handgun, striking the Chrysler driver. The injured driver left the scene and sought help at a nearby Circle K gas station, while the Ford driver stayed on the line with 911 and remained at the location until troopers arrived.

The wounded man was transported to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment. Police have detained the Ford driver for questioning as the investigation continues.
