Gainesville, FL – A convicted felon wanted out of Tennessee was arrested early Wednesday after deputies in Alachua County allegedly found a large stash of drugs, pills, and paraphernalia inside his car.

According to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy I. Minck was patrolling near the Baymont Inn and Suites on NW 4th Boulevard around dawn on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, when he spotted a man slumped over in a blue Honda with the door open. Believing he might be in medical distress, the deputy made contact.

Deputies identified the suspect as 30-year-old Jaccob Haggard, who appeared to be under the influence. A burnt glass pipe was reportedly visible inside the vehicle. After detaining him, deputies searched the car and found over 9 grams of cocaine, 4 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, and numerous narcotic pipes, hypodermic needles, digital scales, multiple cell phones, and three live rounds of ammunition.

A records check revealed Haggard was a wanted felon from Tennessee with multiple outstanding warrants related to drug manufacturing and false reporting. He now faces several new Florida charges, including possession of cocaine and methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.

Haggard was taken into custody without incident, according to the sheriff’s office.
