Portland, ME – A Frost Advisory is in effect for several counties in southern Maine and New Hampshire from midnight tonight until 9 a.m. Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to drop into the lower to mid-30s, which may result in frost, according to the National Weather Service.
The advisory affects Southern Oxford, Interior York, and Interior Cumberland Highlands in Maine, and Northern and Southern Grafton and Carroll counties in New Hampshire. Sensitive outdoor plants are at risk and may be killed if left unprotected.
Residents in areas such as Fryeburg, Conway, and Sanford are urged to cover outdoor plants or bring them inside to prevent frost damage. Warmer temperatures are forecasted to return after the frost lifts mid-morning Wednesday.
