Tallahassee, FL – A Frost Advisory has been issued for portions of southeast Alabama, north Florida, and south Georgia as temperatures are forecast to drop as low as 33 degrees early Saturday morning.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Tallahassee, the advisory will be in effect from 1 a.m. EST (midnight CST) to 9 a.m. EST (8 a.m. CST) on Saturday. The affected regions include parts of the Florida Panhandle, the Big Bend, and southwest Georgia. Sensitive outdoor plants may be at risk of damage if not properly protected.
Residents in the impacted areas are urged to take precautions by covering or bringing indoors any tender vegetation. The cold temperatures are expected to develop overnight under clear skies, with frost likely to form across the region.
Temperatures are forecast to rebound during the day on Saturday, with highs expected in the mid-60s under sunny skies. This frost advisory is the second of the season for many areas as cooler weather settles into the region.
