Tallahassee, FL – Residents of Tallahassee should prepare for freezing temperatures overnight, as a freeze warning is in effect tonight. Widespread frost is expected after 9 p.m., with temperatures dipping as low as 25 degrees, marking one of the coldest nights of the season.
According to the National Weather Service, the freeze warning highlights a significant drop in temperatures that could harm sensitive plants and outdoor plumbing. Residents are urged to cover plants and ensure pets are brought indoors. Calm winds and clear skies will allow frost to settle, creating hazardous conditions for early morning travel.
Saturday morning will start chilly, with widespread frost clearing as the sun rises. The day will bring mostly sunny skies and a high of 53 degrees, offering a relief from the overnight chill. Saturday night will remain clear with temperatures falling to 30 degrees, potentially creating frost again before Sunday morning.
Looking ahead, Sunday offers another sunny day, warming up to 61 degrees. By Monday, the warming trend continues, with highs reaching 62 degrees under partly sunny skies. Temperatures will rise further into midweek, peaking at 69 degrees on Tuesday with mild conditions.
Plan accordingly for this weekend’s cold weather and prepare for gradually warmer days ahead. Stay informed on additional advisories by visiting weather.gov.
