Boston, MA – Another round of bitterly cold weather is descending on Massachusetts tonight, with low temperatures expected to fall into the single digits for many areas. Boston residents should prepare for lows near 18°F, while areas further inland, like Greenfield and Pittsfield, may drop to as low as 4°F.
According to the National Weather Service, winds across Massachusetts will remain light tonight, with speeds under 10 mph for most areas. Along the coast, however, residents may experience winds exceeding 10 mph, creating even colder wind chills. Be sure to bundle up and limit time outdoors during peak overnight cold.
Saturday morning will bring increasing cloud cover with a high near 31°F, followed by a mild southwest breeze. Temperatures Saturday night are forecasted to hover around 22°F, keeping conditions cold but less extreme.
Looking ahead to Sunday, the state will see highs near 39°F with partly sunny skies and gusty southwest winds up to 23 mph. Monday brings the week’s warmest weather with a high of 36°F, though gusts could reach up to 28 mph. By midweek, temperatures may hit 40°F, offering some relief after this frigid stretch.
Residents are encouraged to check heating systems, keep pets indoors, and monitor forecasts for sudden changes. Stay safe and stay warm this weekend as Massachusetts weathers this cold snap.
