Fox Lake, IL – A Fox Lake woman was arrested late Monday after reportedly leading Lake County Sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase through multiple towns, reaching speeds over 100 MPH.
At around 11:10 p.m. on August 19, a Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted a stolen Dodge Charger near Washington Street and Route 21 in Gurnee. The vehicle had previously evaded law enforcement on several occasions. The deputy followed the Charger until additional officers arrived. When deputies attempted to stop the vehicle near Rollins Road and Drury Lane in unincorporated Grayslake, the driver, Kristina M. Krause, 42, reportedly fled westbound at excessive speeds.
Deputies discontinued their pursuit when Krause entered a residential neighborhood in Round Lake Beach. However, the abandoned vehicle was soon located on Hardwood Path, leading to the deployment of Lake County K9 Odin. The canine quickly tracked Krause, who was found hiding between bushes. She was arrested without further incident and taken to the Lake County Jail.
Krause faces multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle and aggravated fleeing to elude. Additional charges are pending.
