Louisiana – A cold front pushing through Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma could bring strong thunderstorms and damaging winds today, posing a risk for Halloween festivities across the Four-State Region.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport, Louisiana, has issued a marginal risk advisory, cautioning that scattered thunderstorms could lead to isolated severe storms. Residents, especially those along major highways like I-20 and US-71, should remain alert for rapid weather changes. Damaging winds are the main threat, potentially impacting outdoor plans and creating hazards for drivers.

According to the NWS, the storm front is expected to intensify this afternoon, bringing the strongest winds and heaviest rains by evening. Families and Halloween participants are advised to stay informed of updates and consider indoor alternatives if severe weather develops. Keeping multiple alert systems, such as weather apps or NOAA radios, will ensure timely updates.

The storm risk is expected to subside overnight, but the NWS urges all residents in the affected areas to take precautions and review safety plans.
