A section of U.S. 136 between Hillsboro and Waynetown in Fountain County will be closed beginning on or after Monday, March 17, for bridge maintenance, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). Crews will conduct scour protection work and clear the right-of-way, with the closure expected to last about a week, depending on weather conditions.
An official detour is in place: westbound traffic should use State Road 341 north to Newtown, while eastbound travelers should follow S.R. 55 south to Wingate, then S.R. 25 back to U.S. 136.
Drivers are advised to use caution in the area and seek alternate routes.
