Drivers along I-35 and surrounding areas are advised to check road conditions as temperatures drop sharply, raising the risk of icy patches overnight.
According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will bring daytime highs near 81°F across Fort Worth and much of North Texas, followed by a powerful cold front in the evening. This front will usher in freezing or near-freezing temperatures across the region, with nighttime lows dipping to 35°F in Fort Worth and potentially colder north of the Metroplex.
Thanksgiving Day is expected to stay cool, cloudy, and breezy, with high temperatures near 56°F and gusty north winds up to 15 mph. Travelers heading out early for holiday plans should dress in layers and prepare for chilly wind chills throughout the day.
The extended forecast shows continued cooler conditions through the weekend. Friday’s high will peak at 56°F, with mostly sunny skies before dropping into the high 30s overnight. By Saturday, temperatures will recover slightly to 62°F but remain below seasonal averages.
Residents are encouraged to take precautions for sensitive plants, outdoor pets, and exposed pipes as freezing conditions may persist during nighttime hours.
