Syracuse, IN – Northern Indiana will face another cold night Friday as temperatures fall to near freezing, according to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana. Overnight lows are expected between 30–34°F, with widespread frost and localized freeze conditions likely across much of the region.
Lake-effect clouds are expected to diminish later this afternoon, giving way to clearer skies overnight and into Saturday. Forecasters advise residents to protect sensitive outdoor plants and crops from potential frost damage.
The weekend looks seasonably mild and mostly dry, with highs in the mid-50s to near 60°F and overnight lows in the 30s and low 40s. Sunshine will dominate both Saturday and Sunday, marking a pleasant but chilly late-October stretch.
No significant precipitation is expected through early next week, though temperatures will remain on the cool side for this time of year.
