FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Northern Indiana will enjoy seasonable fall weather to start the week, with cool nights, mild afternoons, and breezy southwest winds Monday. The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana said skies will remain mostly clear tonight, with lows dipping into the mid-30s to near 40 degrees before winds increase overnight.

According to the Weather Service, southwest winds will strengthen to 15–20 mph on Monday, with gusts reaching 30 mph during the afternoon. Despite the breeze, highs will climb into the upper 50s and low 60s, offering a mild and pleasant day across Fort Wayne, South Bend, and surrounding areas. Tuesday will stay similar, with highs again near 60 and a mix of sun and passing clouds.

Forecasters expect dry conditions through midweek as temperatures hold steady or rise slightly. The mild air will continue to dominate much of northern Indiana before a late-week system brings cooler air and potential showers by Thursday or Friday.

Residents should secure lightweight outdoor items ahead of Monday’s gusts and use caution when driving on open highways such as I-69 and U.S. 30, where crosswinds could be noticeable.
