Fort Wayne, IN – The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana warns that light to moderate snow will move into the region tonight into Sunday, bringing 1 to 3 inches of accumulation and dangerously cold wind chills by late Sunday night.

Snow is expected to begin west of Interstate 69 late tonight before expanding eastward by Sunday morning. The heaviest totals are likely in northwest Indiana near Lake Michigan, where localized amounts could exceed 3 inches. Areas farther southeast can expect lighter accumulations.

In addition to the snow, temperatures will stay below freezing, with highs Sunday only reaching the upper 20s to low 30s. By Sunday night, lows will dip into the single digits, and wind chills could fall to -10°F, creating a risk of frostbite with prolonged exposure.

Drivers should be prepared for slippery roads and reduced visibility, especially on untreated surfaces. The NWS urges caution for early Sunday travelers, as road conditions may deteriorate quickly overnight.
